Updated Custom Design Fees and Terms as of 6/13/2011
CUSTOM DESIGN REQUESTS
It will happen (and we're glad it does!). You get one, two, and then three. However, you urge for something else. Whether it be for a special occasion or everyday wear, Mommy Necklaces will periodically grant approval to custom design requests.
To be granted approval, you must own at least one Mommy Necklace. Why? Before you can ask for something custom, you must have some previous knowledge of the MN style. If this is your first Mommy Necklace, we will not grant your request.
To be granted approval, you must be specific and flexible with your request. Why? Ultimately, we will design within our style and stay true to the MN brand. Our final design must reflect who and what we are as designers. Our basic bead flow and complimentary color compositions will always be the starting structure for our designs, custom or not. However, we will make every possible effort to bring your vision to life. We will offer you suggestions if we feel your custom request is not coming together as you may have planned. Our goal is to make you more than satisfied. We want to make you stylishly satisfied.
All custom design requests are subject to approval by Raelynn, lead designer. No more than four custom requests per customer every three months and the colors featured in our Flourish Collection are not available for any custom design requests.
Most importantly, we love making custom pieces. We LOVE it. However, due to the daily demands of our regular collection, we may not be able to take on every custom request and we may refuse all custom work when we are exceptionally busy.
Make a Custom Request
1. Send an email to customwork@mommynecklaces.com.
2. Start off with your name, address, phone number and email.
3. Describe your request as general or specific as you‘d like. Offer design guidelines in reference to what you already have/wear, color ideas, bead sizes, pendants/no pendants, length (remember, MNs are measured end-to-end). Feel free to include any wardrobe pictures, if helpful in relaying your design idea(s) to us.
4. Let us know if you need your custom request by a certain date. If you are working with a deadline, we may be unable to complete your project within your timeframe. Generally, custom designs will take between 7 and 14 business days.
5. Payment must be made in full before your request is set on the design table.
Custom Pricing
Retail Price of Related Design + Design Fee + Stranding Fee = Custom Price
+ Design Fee
Our design fee is currently $5.00 per necklace. This grants you our complete focus on your project. This fee includes sorting, filtering, and combining your suggested beads/colors at the design table (pre-stranding labor).Our design fee may periodically change, depending on our general order and custom request volume.
Fee Reduction
- 25% of the design fee - if your custom request is modeled after a OOP MN or previous Exclusive.
+ Stranding Fee
Stranding fees vary based on the length of your request.
Request up to 24" - $4.00
Request 26" to 34" - $5.00
Request 36" to 44" - $6.00
Design Snapshot
For an added fee of $3.00, we will send you a digital image of your custom request before shipment. Please request this when you send your initial email.
Custom Return Policy
If you are unhappy with your custom request, there is a restrand fee (see current restrand fees) to revise it. This revision much be done with 14 days of receiving your necklace. We will not charge for additional design time (which may include changing/adding/deleting beads) or shipping. Custom designs are non-refundable, but as mentioned, custom requests are returnable for one free design alteration (outside of the restrand fee) with 14 days.
Reward Point Eligibility
Custom pieces are eligible in full for reward points. However, you may not use a gift card redeemed by reward points to purchase a custom.
Custom Discounts
If you are requesting multiples of the same custom, we may be able to offer a price break. However, this will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Custom Shipping
And lastly, Our flat-rate shipping fees apply to custom orders.
